Finally, in Athcross the group gets a tour of the city and some insight into what's happening. Getting ready for a meeting with Professor McRath and possibly Carson Eolas they hope to get more information about these elemental attacks.

Synopsis[]
Now in Athcross the group decide to relax in the Liebhar Lounge for the night before their meeting in the morning. Rex slipped away from the group into the streets of Athcross with O.S.C.A.R. in tow. The rest of the group unaware take in the Lounge, filled with books and studying wizards. Daffodil heads to the stage, Friz takes a seat at a table in the corner and starts tinkering, Jynx heads straight to the bar and Mata takes a lap around the place to take it all in and see if there were any interesting patrons. Jynx chatting with the bartender, a young ‘nerdy cute’ guy named Theo chooses the best wine in the house for her after she made a great first impression. Daffodil plays a song and ends up getting a few gold pieces from the patrons who really enjoyed it. Jynx ended up making a date with Theo the bartender and then proceeded to leave the tavern to make a grand exit. Then peeking into the building from the front window. Daffodil headed out to see if she was okay. Mata took this opportunity to talk to Theo, learning he was the contact Avis spoke of. Discussing some things they agreed to meet up sometime the next day since he was hoping to meet up with Jynx tonight after his shift ended.
Meanwhile Rex has been off on his own, making his way to the temple to see the Kids of Kord. Having stocked up on any non-perishable foods from the train he starts handing them out to the kids, striking up a convo with one of the older ones. Kailu of the Kids of Kord thanks Rex for his contributions and made sure each kid got something. Rex then made his way to the Athcross Atheneum to try and study. He was able to get in but was not able to get access to all of the books he desired. After reading what he could and taking all of the notes he made his way back to the lounge. Not even noticing Jynx and Daffodil peeking in from the window he walks in and straight to the bar where he chose to have an adult beverage for the first time. Theo giving him a glass of nice wine and seeing him down it in one shot and surprisingly keeping it down, decided to switch him to a lower end whiskey. Which prompted Rex to vomit it all up. Theo, while cleaning up Rex’s mess gave him some wisdom. You might think you are on the right track, and know what you are destined for. Then someone shows up or something happens to make you question everything. You just have to decide if you want to listen to this person or pay attention to this event. Or if you want to continue the journey you’ve been on.
Friz, taking the group dad role seriously tries to talk to Rex and gets nowhere while he is in the state he was in. Decides to take Rex to his room so he can sleep it off, and then waits patiently by the front door to give everyone else their room keys. During this Jynx gets the zoomies and starts to run with Daffodil scurrying behind her. Eventually making it to a fountain she submerges herself. Daffodil trying to help her tries to pull her out but only really succeeding in keeping her head out of the water. Eventually they see Theo approach them hoping to hang out with Jynx. Seeing her in the water he jumps in trying to help her, pulling her out of the fountain. Jynx pretending to be very drunk once again. Theo helps her back to the tavern and up to her room, being a gentleman. Daffodil tried to get her hands on the master key although it did not work out.
Mata slipped away on her own at some point and took in the city. She noted where all of the ‘fun holes’ were and even found a door with a thieves guild marking on it, although there didn’t seem to be anyone on the other side. After everyone made it to their rooms Friz collected the communication devices he handed out earlier to re-work them a bit. The next morning everyone making it to breakfast Rex notices Jynx has not come down yet and takes some food up to her to see if she was alright. Making their way to the meeting with Professor MacRath, Lyossa stopped them and told them she wasn’t sure on when they will get to meet with Headmaster Eolas, and that he was going to be attending a party that night.
The Meeting with Professor MacRath started with him wanting to see the rocks, telling the group about the Elements, Eilamadens, and how he is trying to harness the element's essence to help the kingdom. He mentioned infusing constructs with the elements but he needs more of the rocks they leave behind. Paying the group 500 gp for the Steam Mephite rock and then offering 1000 gp to them if they go and retrieve other rocks for him so he can continue his studies. After a bit of discussion the group agreed and are now free in the city until they are summoned for a party.
